Residential fees cover the whole academic year of 39 weeks + O Week (for first year residents only), including mid-semester and between semester breaks.

International Residents

International residents may be eligible for a short-term contract for the purpose of leaving at the end of one semester, and is by special prior arrangement only. Please contact the college for more information.

Residents have their own room and bathrooms have a ratio of approx. five people, which are cleaned daily. As well as meals, residents benefit from academic support, a range of activities, modern facilities and much more! For all inclusions and to see the available facilities, click here.

Important Information

Students pay in advance by the semester (some payment plans are available*).

Fees cover the whole academic year of 39 weeks + O Week (O week for first year residents only), including mid-semester and between semester holidays. Union residents enjoy the convenience of not having to pack up and vacate their room during vacation periods during the academic year.

Residents sign a contract that commits them for the academic year. Residents wishing to leave before the year is completed are free to do so, but are responsible for fees until their place in college is taken by another approved resident. An administrative fee is charged. This does not apply to study abroad and /or exchange residents, who study at UQ for one semester only.

Ongoing costs that are not included in semester fees include:
  • Laundry
  • Printing / photocopying charges

Returning Residents

Information for residents returning to Union College in 2024.

The Returning Residents Move in Day is Sunday 18 February 2024. You are able to move in from 8:30am.

If your course starts earlier, please contact the office to arrange an early arrival. Those with permission to arrive at college before 18 February will need to arrive Monday-Friday 10:00am to 3:00pm.

Storage will be open on move in day, from 8:30am – 12:00pm, and by arrangement during week one of university.
